Northern Sport Centre

The Northern Sport Centre is situated at the entrance of the UNBC campus. From general memberships to rental space for minor groups, to training opportunities for high-performance athletes, the Northern Sport Centre brings together fitness and sport development.

Features of the sport centre include; a multi-purpose field house that can accommodate two soccer pitches on a Polytan turf system which has been installed on an earth base rather than concrete, a three lane, 280 metre track overlooks the gymnasium and fields house below with a five lane, 80 metre straightaway for sprints on a quality Polytan surface. The 22,000 square foot gymnasium contains three basketball courts and can accommodate seating for up to 2,000 spectators. The courts are also designed to accommodate volleyball, badminton and gymnastics equipment.

The sport centre also includes offices, meeting space, officials rooms, concession, storage areas, fitness studio, weight rooms, squash courts and on site services such as physiotherapy, sports medicine and message therapy.
